I joined Microsoft in February of 1989. When I left a bit over seven years later I had seen a lot of politics, back-biting, shouting (if you can see shouting) and other interesting behavioral traits that I thought might add up to an interesting insight into the way Microsoft worked then. I say 'then' because as people at the company have gotten older, married and so on, the culture has changed. In the end I decided that writing this kind of book was a lot different than the programming books I'd done and I really didn't have the skills to do it well. The links below are to some rough cuts at stories/chapters from the book that will probably never be.
The book was to be dedicated to my mum and dad who made it all possible.
